The Beertender is a position that works to ensure smooth daily operation of the tavern and sales. Service is a top priority for Hop Forged Brewing Company and the Beertender is an essential role that is expected to maintain exemplary service throughout daily operations. The Beertender is expected to uphold the Company’s policies and procedures.

Essential Functions

  • Works as part of a team to support tavern operations in a manner that achieves the established financial goals, ensures a rich consumer experience, builds consumer loyalty and reflects the brand essence.
  • Interact with customers, take orders, and serve snacks and drinks
  • Check customers’ identification and confirm it meets legal drinking age
  • Assess customers’ needs and references and make recommendations
  • Plan and present bar menu to customers
  • Restock and replenish bar and restroom inventory and supplies
  • Stay guest focused and nurture an excellent guest experience, while ensuring exemplary customer service
  • Comply with all food and beverage regulations
  • Move full kegs and change out empties when kicked in taproom
  • Operates cash register to complete customer transactions
  • Follows all appropriate cash-handling procedures
  • Responsible for maintaining cleanliness throughout the tavern
  • Maintains up-to-date product knowledge and product presentation expectations
  • Conducts inventory, stocks product and merchandise, and monitors inventory levels
  • Attends to, mediates, and resolves customer complaints and escalates concerns, as necessary
  • Maintains accurate logs for keg transfers through taproom
  • Assists, under the direction of management, in building and managing the company’s social media profiles and presence, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and additional channels that may be deemed relevant
  • Monitor and engage in relevant social discussions about our company, competitors, and/or industry, both from existing customers as well as from new audiences.
  • Assists with all event activities such as preparation, moving kegs, set up and take-down, and pouring beer, as needed

Education & Requirements

  • LEAD certification
  • High school diploma
  • Valid California Driver’s License

Preferred Skills

  • Cicerone Certified Beer Server
  • Associate’s degree or higher in business, restaurant management, or related field
  • One year bartending or beer serving experience
  • Two years cash handling experience
  • Goal oriented
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
  • One year sales experience
  • Familiar with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat)
  • Organizational skills/event planning experience
