Summary

The Beertender is a position that works to ensure smooth daily operation of the tavern and sales. Service is a top priority for Hop Forged Brewing Company and the Beertender is an essential role that is expected to maintain exemplary service throughout daily operations. The Beertender is expected to uphold the Company’s policies and procedures.

Essential Functions

  •  Clean and inspect kegs weekly.
  • Clean and inspect brewhouse and production facility brewing equipment.
  • Cleaning product management; including caustic cleaners, acid sanitizers, and pacifying acid.
  • Clean and inspect fermenter vessels.
  • Safely handle and properly dispense of harmful chemicals and production gases such as: oxygen, carbon dioxide, beer gas (nitrogen/CO2 mixture), caustic wash, and acid sanitizer.
  • Maintain accurate fermentation logs.
  • Maintain accurate production volume logs.
  • Maintain accurate logs of both clean and dirty kegs.
  • Maintain ingredient inventory; including, but not limited to, grains, hops, yeast, brewing salts, and any other necessary adjuncts.
  • Balance finished product inventory and complete inventory monthly reporting for excise tax requirements.
  • Brew on their own as necessary to maintain production goals.
  • Assist sales team with delivering beer by the keg and case.
  • Wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times while performing job duties.
  • Follow and adhere to all safety protocols to ensure safety of themselves and others.
  • Work as part of a team to support tavern operations in a manner that achieves the established financial goals, ensures a rich consumer experience, builds consumer loyalty and reflects the brand essence.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (with or without reasonable accommodation)

Travel Requirements

  • Travel is expected to be up to 20% of weekly time.

Education & Requirements

  • RBS certification
  • High school diploma

Preferred Skills

  • Certified Cicerone
  • Associate degree or higher in brewing, microbiology or related field
  • One year of brewing experience
  • Organizational skills/ scheduling and coordinating of beers and brew days
  • Understanding beer styles and production
  • Any OSHA certifications
